Comics Reviews For Jan 14,2008
Here with my first Review for all my 0 followers. Beware, they do contain some spoilers.
Action Comics #873- Wheee!!! New Krypton is finally over. The 100,000 Kryptonians leave earth with Kara. Not a great issue, but it does give a somewhat satisfying ending to the New Krypton crossover. Plus, Superwoman blasts Agent liberty in the head, leaving him presumably dead.
Story 3 Art 3
Final Crisis #6- The issue of Final Crisis that everyone was looking forward to. Grant Morrison takes his unique style of story telling and sends us readers through a roller coaster of scenes. From Tawky Tawny disembowling Kalibak to Batman killing a God. And we finally find out the fate of Batman(Its not good). What is a bit jarring is the combinations of three artists. Story 5 Art 3
Nightwing#152- Dick fights Ninjas and Fights Ra's Al Ghul..That would of been great if it actually went somewhere. Nightwing goes to Ra's and sword fights him, with Ra's lamenting that Batman's demise was by some other person than him. With Ra's calling Dick "detective", signifying that he thinks of Dick as a worthy successor to Bruce Wayne...great, a whole issue of that....
Story 2 Art 3
the Amazing Spiderman #583- The much talked about Obama issue is finally here and...it was a letdown. The main part of the issue was competent enough, not really furthering any storyline other than Betty Brant realizing Peter is actually a really good friend. Now, the Obama back up story was completely forgettable. The story is basically the chameleon is impersonating Obama, trying to trick his way into being inaugurated. Pointless and dissapointing that this issue is overshadowing what should be a headliner in Final Crisis.
Story 2 Art 3
Deadpool#6- Wade Wilson reunites with Bob(Awesome!!!) and fights TigerShark who was sent by Norman Osborne. Doesnt it sound awesome? Yea, it does, yet it wasnt. I have enjoyed this recent Deadpool run but this issue just didnt make me laugh like the other issues had. Well, i did laugh at Deadpools seemingly heroic rescue of Bob only to be really going after the gun Bob threw to him.
Story 2 Art 3
And that concludes the Books that i picked up this week and read( I picked of the last two issues of Wizard of Oz but i just havnt had the time to read it )
